HOUSING OPPURTUNTIES for PEOPLE With AIDS and HIV
HOPWA
The Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) Program is the only Federal program dedicated to the housing needs of people living with HIV/AIDS.
Under the HOPWA Program, HUD makes grants to local communities, States, and nonprofit organizations for projects that benefit low-income persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families.
NIAC is a HOPWA grant recipient.
NIAC provides services to eligible participants in accordance with IHFA's policies governing the COC program in Idaho Health Districts 1 & 2.
NIAC provides the following services to eligible clients in Kootenai, Bonner, Shoshone, Boundary, Benewah, Clearwater, Latah, Lewis, Nez Perce, Idaho Counties:

Short-Term Rent, Mortgage, and Utility Payments to prevent homelessness

Housing Information Services (providing information/materials regarding available housing)

Permanent Housing Placement Services (assistance with completing PH applications, eligibility screenings, and household budgeting)

Supportive Services (case management, access to care)
HUD Resource Locator
To eligible clients, NIAC provides both in-person assistance and HUD housing locator services.
