History

North Idaho AIDS Coalition (NIAC) formed in 1989, at the height of the first wave of the AIDS crisis. NIAC's original purpose was to provide emotional support to HIV+ gay men, and to their family, friends, and loved ones. Over the years, this support group evolved into an incorporated non-profit agency providing prevention, care and advocacy services to anyone at risk for, or infected by HIV. NIAC is the leading broker of HIV-related services in North Idaho. Indeed, NIAC is the single, sole community-based AIDS service organization in the entire state of Idaho.
